WHO YOU ARE As an apprentice at IKEA Schweiz, you are not on your own - you are part of a large apprentice community. Together, you experience how exciting and varied it is to work in an international company, take on responsibility, and develop yourselves. Because during your apprenticeship, we show you step by step everything you need to stand securely in professional life after your training and to achieve your own goals. In sales, you are right in the middle of it: You help our customers find the right things for their homes - friendly, honest, and competent. You enjoy approaching people and offering them an IKEA shopping experience that they like to remember. You don't have to know everything yet! The important thing is that you are curious, enjoy learning, and want to contribute at IKEA. To ensure you fit well with us, ideally you bring the following: • You enjoy being with other people and feel comfortable when you talk to people. • You are interested in living, furniture, and interior design - you like decorating your room, looking at decor ideas, or trying things out yourself. • You are a good listener and try to understand what others need - for example, when someone asks you for advice or wants help. • You enjoy working in a team, for example during group work in school or in a club, but can also complete tasks independently. • You can generally organize yourself: You mostly manage homework, exams, and hobbies well. • You are confident using a computer or tablet, speak very good German, and already understand a little English. You are responsible for • You learn how to create a special IKEA experience together with your team - so that our customers feel welcome and want to come back. • You practice how to actively advise our customers: You show them products, explain interior design ideas, and can explain our services such as transport or assembly to them simply and understandably. • You find out how to ensure through your advice that customers are satisfied and leave the home furnishing store with new ideas for their homes. • You learn how to keep your sales area tidy and organized: Refilling shelves, presenting products beautifully, and ensuring that everything looks inviting. • You work together with various departments in the home furnishing store - for example with our Interior Designers - and help to develop new ideas and solutions for our customers. Therefore, we invite applicants who are in the shortlist to an afternoon at the IKEA home furnishing store to get to know us and so that you get an initial insight into how an apprenticeship at IKEA works.
