With nearly 1200 employees, the Département de médecine aiguë (D-MA) includes the services of anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, adult intensive care, and adult emergencies. It fulfills a quadruple mission through its services which provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all the Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève, thanks to a transversal platform, with the objective of ensuring the best possible care for patients. The Service des soins intensifs takes care of adult patients who present or are in immediate danger of developing vital organ failure in the context of a pathology or its complications, whether medical or surgical, and whose life risk is generally engaged. It also advises and intervenes when necessary during resuscitation situations in other HUG services and participates in urgent hospital interventions. In our Service des soins intensifs, you provide high-tech nursing care encompassing curative, preventive, palliative, educational, and rehabilitation dimensions. This care is personalized and global, provided to a patient population of all ages and in situations presenting different levels of complexity. Intensive monitoring of the persons under care, implementation of pain therapies upon prescription, execution of resuscitation and emergency measures, and the use of medico-technical devices are your daily routine. All care is delivered with competence, in a holistic and empathetic manner. You know how to face the complexity of the situations encountered and emergency interventions, by acting in a rapid, flexible, and anticipatory way within the framework of the activities delegated to you. You collaborate in the supervision and training of new nursing staff, nursing students, nursing assistants, and other health professional bodies. You also contribute to quality development and research in the health field. Qualifications Are you interested in EPD-ES training and the profession of specialized adult intensive care nurse? This competency assessment is an online training that will require an investment of several hours (count approximately 10 hours of training) and which invites you to immerse yourself in the reality of specialized services by offering you self-assessments and didactic materials allowing you to develop your skills. Once you have completed the MOOC in its entirety, your final diagnostic is included in your application file and will serve as a basis for discussion during the selection interviews.
