Bern, Switzerland (and home office) | 80-80% This is what you can contribute <br /> • Develop and further anchor methodological standards for provenance research in the museums and collections of the Federal Office of Culture • Accompany and validate research results of the museums and collections • Coordinate cooperation with museums, specialist offices and external experts • Participate in subsidy awards (standards, tendering and controlling) • Prepare decision-making bases and expert reports in the area of responsibility for the section management and directorate <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • University degree in art history, history, ethnology, museology or related discipline • Several years of experience in provenance research, particularly in the field of Nazi-looted art • In-depth knowledge of international principles and methodological standards of provenance research • Experience in developing and applying methodological standards and quality assurance processes • Pronounced analytical and conceptual skills in dealing with complex and sensitive issues • Active knowledge of two official languages and passive knowledge of the third official language <br /> In brief You will actively shape the provenance research of the Confederation and contribute to further developing common standards and a coherent practice in the museums and collections of the Confederation. You will work at the interface of research, cultural policy and administration and make an important contribution to the responsible handling of historically burdened cultural heritage. The Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Built Heritage is responsible for museums and collections as well as built heritage. The Section Museums and Collections at the Federal Office of Culture (BAK) is responsible for the strategic management and technical support of the Confederation's museums and collections. It develops basic principles and standards for their operation, documentation and communication and contributes to preserving and making the Confederation's cultural heritage accessible according to technical and ethical standards. A particular focus lies on provenance research and the systematic processing of the origin of cultural goods in the Confederation's collections.
