Engage with us for the vision of a solidary society, as Care Asylum Center 80 % in Winterthur, temporary (m/f/d) Caritas Schweiz has been operating asylum centers at various locations in the Canton of Zürich on behalf of the canton since March 2024. Since January 1, 2026, and on a temporary basis, we are opening a transit center in the Winterthur area. The center provides space for up to 100 asylum seekers. It is located in an underground facility that meets current requirements for security, infrastructure, and protection. The premises are designed to be functional and practical to create as pleasant and structured an environment as possible for the residents. For the care team, we are looking for a flexible and ready-to-work person who is willing to take on various shifts, including day, night, and weekend services. Your tasks Accompanying and advising refugees in various everyday matters Processing arrivals and departures: preparation of personal dossiers, entry material, as well as receipt of material, departure settlement Co-responsibility in conflict processing and management according to the care principles Introduction and instruction of cleaning and maintenance of the living quarters and implementation of cleaning and hygiene concepts Planning, introducing, and instructing household services and small tasks (Ämtli) Co-responsibility for compliance with the house rules in the center and implementation of the organizational manual regarding security and emergency Ensuring orderly center operations and a calm atmosphere Taking on temporally varying work services (including day, night, and weekend services) Our requirements Completed training and professional experience is an advantage in care or domestic economy; experience in the migration sector is desirable Good knowledge of the German language as well as good oral knowledge in English, further foreign language skills are an advantage Good computer user skills (especially MS-Office and Internet) High sense of responsibility, hygiene, and quality Initiative, independence, and a high degree of work organization Flexibility, resilience, and assertiveness Readiness to perform temporally varying work services High sense of responsibility and duty Cultural openness Impeccable character/reputation Work location: Winterthur (Kanton Zürich) Start of work: or by arrangementTemporary until: Caritas offers attractive employment conditions and an open working atmosphere at the pulse of social issues.
