The emergency shelter for families is a supervised collective accommodation for families threatened by homelessness. The service serves to accommodate families in emergencies. The goal is to stabilize the family situation and promote the acquisition of skills in life areas important for the search for housing, so that a transition to the free housing market becomes possible again. For our team at the location Langensteinstrasse 65 in 8057 Zürich, we are looking for a motivated personality starting 01.09.2026 or by arrangement. Tasks ## • You admit new families, care for them, and accompany them according to their needs and individually. • You support families of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds in searching for a sustainable housing solution. • You promote successful coexistence in the emergency shelter, ensure orderly operations, and intervene in conflicts. • You work together with other involved agencies and promote cooperation within the support network. • You plan and document the support of the families in the case management system. • You take on co-responsibility for organizational and operational tasks at the locations. Profile ## • Completed training in Social Work, Social Pedagogy, or as a Nursing Professional HF/FH • Readiness for work shifts until 7:00 PM as well as one weekend shift per month (duty rosters are created two months in advance) • High degree of independence as well as the readiness to manage the location independently; the place of assignment may change and assignments at other locations are possible • Experience in working with families and/or in the psychosocial field is an advantage • Joy in working with people and a professional approach to different expectations and life realities • Ability to form sustainable professional relationships and consciously balance closeness and distance We offer ## You support families in finding the way out of the emergency shelter into their own housing solution, thereby making an important contribution to their stabilization.
