Supervisor / Caretaker 80 - 100% # Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is, as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zürich, responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of the various types of detention. For our 1'400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of convicted persons and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance. The Hauptabteilung Untersuchungsgefängnisse Zürich (UGZ) - one of eight main departments of JuWe - currently operates seven prisons for investigative and security detention. One of these operations is the Gefängnis Winterthur (GFW), which manages the tasks assigned to it with a staff of 49 employees and offers space for 92 inmates and 9 provisional detainees. The Gefängnis Winterthur is looking for a team-oriented, open-minded, and committed personality for execution, starting immediately or by arrangement. This is your field of activity ### • You care for, occupy, and accompany incarcerated persons within the daily structures and act as a contact person for concerns • You ensure an orderly daily routine, ensure compliance with and enforcement of security and service regulations, and know how to recognize and manage critical situations • You undertake administrative work such as writing reports, file entries, and documenting events • Performing regular shift, weekend, night, and special services is a matter of course for you and compatible with your other obligations • You significantly shape a new culture and commit yourself to quality assurance and the further development of the GFW with a view towards resource- and development-oriented investigative detention This is what you bring with you ### • You must have a Swiss federal certificate of proficiency (eidg. Fähigkeitszeugnis), (specialist) maturity, specialist middle school certificate, or an equivalent qualification • You can express yourself very well in written and spoken German and have good knowledge of at least one other language • You are proficient in using the MS Office suite • You are both mentally and physically resilient • You have an unblemished reputation (i.e., no entries in the criminal record and the debt enforcement register) and are at least 25 years old This is what makes this position special ### • The GFW has everything you can expect from a new building.
