With around 2400 employees, the Social Department of the City of Zürich works daily for a social Zürich. The Social Services ensure with their work in the five social centers that people in the City of Zürich can rely on effective basic social care. For our social center Wipkingerplatz, we are looking for a motivated specialist as of 01. October 2026 or by agreement. Social Worker*in Family Profile 80 % Tasks • You support and advise families in financial and social difficulties. • You work polyvalently: You provide economic social assistance, advise families in difficult situations and carry out civil law child protection mandates. There is plenty of variety. • You clarify endangerments of the child's well-being on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority. • You document your work in a comprehensible manner in a case management system. • You are administratively supported by clerks, can draw on the knowledge of internal specialist offices and work closely with your colleagues in the team. Profile • University of applied sciences degree in Social Work is mandatory • Professional experience in providing economic social assistance and/or in child and youth welfare, corresponding further training is a plus • Business flair and good knowledge of financial topics • Enjoy working with people and different family constellations and good handling of conflicting expectations • Quick grasp of complex situations and the ability to take on different roles in counseling and care We offer A varied, challenging activity at an attractive location in Zürich with the option of flexible working models.
