They test the mode of action of pharmaceutical substances. In doing so, they work with animals, cell cultures, bacteria, and viruses. They plan experiments according to instructions, carry them out independently, and document the course and results of the experiments. Their workplace is generally equipped with highly sensitive electronic measuring devices.
