The Department of Surgery ensures the care of female and male patients 24h/24, both in elective and emergency cases requiring surgical intervention. It represents a center of excellence, not only Swiss, but also European in several fields and in several of its surgical specialties. Within this department, the physical medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation unit (UMPRO) is attached to the Orthopedic Surgery and Locomotor Traumatology Service. This constitutes the most important center of this type in Switzerland. It offers cutting-edge care covering all areas of reconstructive orthopedic surgery and adult traumatology, including complex and highly specialized situations. The service performs more than 6'500 surgical interventions each year and ensures approximately 45'000 consultations. It relies on a multidisciplinary approach, high-level infrastructure, and strong involvement in university teaching and clinical research. This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment which aims to ensure the compliance of work organization with the Labor Act (LTr). Senior Physician with specialist title in physical medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation - 80% As a Senior Physician holding the specialist title in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, you ensure the specialized outpatient care of female and male patients presenting with musculoskeletal pathologies, complex traumatic sequels, and functional limitations requiring expertise in rehabilitation. You contribute to the development of the clinical activities of the physical medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation unit (UMPRO) in close collaboration with the orthopedic surgery teams, traumatology, and the various specialists involved in the care pathway. In this function, you are involved in the outpatient follow-up of polytraumatized patients, for whom you perform in-depth functional assessments, define rehabilitation objectives, and coordinate the therapeutic interventions necessary to optimize their functional recovery and autonomy. You participate in the management of complex situations requiring an interdisciplinary approach. As part of your activity, you perform diagnostic and therapeutic acts specific to the discipline, notably infiltrations and injections in the musculoskeletal field. You also contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practices and the development of the unit's services. You demonstrate rigor, clinical sense, and a great capacity for analysis in managing sometimes complex situations, including the management of short-term complications. Thanks to your sense of organization and your ability to prioritize, you efficiently ensure your clinical activities while responding to multiple demands (patients, telephones, correspondence, meetings). You evolve in a demanding environment, at the interface of care, teaching, and research. In this capacity, you collaborate closely with the entire medical-nursing team and ensure clear, fluid, and respectful communication, both with your colleagues and with female and male patients, by adapting your discourse to their understanding. Relying on your team spirit, you demonstrate solidarity in the face of unforeseen events and high workloads. As a Senior Physician, you actively participate in the supervision and training of resident doctors, adopting a mentoring posture and sharing your expertise. You take part in the service's on-call duty. Qualifications You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Commission of Medical Professions of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO). You hold an FMH title in physical medicine and rehabilitation or have a title deemed equivalent recognized by MEBEKO and possess the cantonal right to practice or are able to obtain it before your start date with the cantonal physician of Genève. You have proven experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation allowing you to be autonomous in your activities. You are comfortable with technical gestures, notably the performance of injections. Ideally, your previous experience is in a university environment with a high volume of activity. For non-French speaking persons, a C1 level of French in spoken and written tests is required. You have excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible, committed person and demonstrate discretion.
