100 % from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement, fixed-term until December 2031 with the goal of exam readiness for the Federal Diploma of Higher Education What are your tasks: <br /> • You independently organize and lead archaeological investigations such as excavations, construction investigations and prospections throughout the entire cantonal territory and in Augusta Raurica. • You uncover archaeological findings and finds, prepare them for documentation and process investigation documentations in an archive-compliant manner • You professionally recover archaeological finds and samples and ensure the handover to the collections • You document findings through drawing, photography and writing, create plans with GIS and CAD and also work with SfM, laser scan and image processing programs. • You carry out surveys with total station and GPS and ensure the professional recovery and initial recording of archaeological objects. • You plan and set up the technical excavation infrastructure and share responsibility for safety and compliance with all regulations. • You take over the deputy or independent technical management of investigations in close consultation with the scientific project managers. • You actively contribute to the public relations work of the Department of Archaeology as well as the public operations. <br /> What you bring with you: <br /> • Since you work primarily outdoors, you have good physical and mental condition; existing excavation experience and an archaeological background are an advantage. • Continuous further training in work and documentation techniques as well as in types of findings and finds through attendance at relevant courses by the VATG and other providers is a matter of course for you. • You are resilient, characterized by teamwork, and enjoy working independently and on your own initiative. • You have a Category B driver's license • Ideally, you also possess a small machinery driver's license (Type M1) or are willing to acquire it. <br /> For questions regarding the position Cédric Grezet Leitung Ausgrabungen Augst Tel. 061 552 22 36 For questions regarding the application process Jan von Wartburg Leitung Ausgrabungen Liestal Tel. 061 552 50 89 Amt für Kultur / Archäologie Baselland The <<Archäologie Baselland>> is a newly formed department of the Amt für Kultur of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. As a cantonal specialist office, it is responsible for the protection and research of archaeological sites, zones and movable objects in the cantonal territory. The department is being created as part of the organizational development of the Amt für Kultur: The archaeological specialist areas of the previous main departments <<Archäologie und Museum Baselland>> and <<Römerstadt Augusta Raurica>> are being organizationally merged within it.
