Psychology Intern Educational Counseling

The Amt für Jugend und Berufsberatung of the Bildungsdirektion provides, orders, manages and coordinates offers of child and youth welfare and vocational counseling. As one of a total of 15 child and youth welfare centers in the Canton of Zürich, the kjz Winterthur ensures uniform service delivery, solidly based regionally and communally, in the areas of youth and family counseling, educational counseling, mother and father counseling as well as child protection. The kjz Winterthur offers psychology students (Bachelor or Master) at a Swiss university of applied sciences or university a six-month internship starting from 1 February 2027. As part of the internship, you will gain insight into the following activities: • Participation in family discussions by various psychologists in process-oriented, systemically oriented educational counseling on behalf of the parents • Co-counseling as well as independent counseling and support of parents, families and caregivers with children and adolescents up to 18 years of age within a voluntary framework • Case-related administrative tasks (file notes and case-related correspondence) • Insight into the work of a child protection investigation on behalf of the KESB through case discussions with the investigators You will have the opportunity to get to know the diverse range of educational counseling at the kjz Winterthur and will be systematically introduced to our tasks.
