Schwarzenburg has around 7000 inhabitants. The diverse municipality with its historic village core is located in the Gantrisch Nature Park and is easily accessible by public transport. Schwarzenburg is the regional center in the triangle of Bern, Thun, and Freiburg.   The municipal social service is responsible for the areas of social assistance, voluntary counseling, and child and adult protection. As of September 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for a Social Worker ## (Employment degree 50 - 100 %) Your main tasks In social assistance, you are responsible for the assessment, calculation, and disbursement of social assistance benefits, as well as for the counseling and support of social assistance recipients. In preventive counseling, you provide information to those seeking advice and undertake financial and personal counseling. In child and adult protection, you are responsible for mandate management, the assessment of reports of endangerment, and further assignments from the KESB. Your profile   • Diploma in Social Work FH/HFS/BSc • Practical experience in statutory social work is desirable (social assistance and KES) • Good IT skills, possibly knowledge of the case management system KLIB • You are independent, committed, resilient, and can quickly orient yourself in new and challenging situations • You work goal- and solution-oriented, are empathetic, and can also assert yourself if necessary.
