Research Associate 100% in Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Department: Life Sciences and Facility Management Start date: by arrangement; application deadline until 14.8.2026 Tasks This position offers an excellent opportunity to actively participate in the establishment of a new research group in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Polyvalent Diagnostics. We are looking for a motivated individual with a background in molecular or cell biology, biomedicine, or medicine, as well as a completed doctorate (PhD or MD-PhD). Your main tasks: Support the development and establishment of the research group in the field of AI and Digital Diagnostics. Collaboration in the coordination and organization of internships in the BMLD (Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics) degree program. Development and establishment of experimental and analytical workflows as well as handling of different human biological samples, including plasma, serum, and tissue. Independent work while simultaneously working closely with group members in joint research projects, publication of manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, participation in the acquisition of third-party funds, as well as presentation of results in internal lab meetings and at national and international conferences. Supervision of junior scientists (e.g., students and doctoral students) as well as support for teaching activities and practical training formats at the institute. You have experience in handling human biological samples (e.g., blood, tissue) as well as in the development and establishment of experimental or analytical workflows, particularly in the context of single-cell analytics (Single Cell Omics) and image-based diagnostics. You have an interest in applied biomedical research and want to familiarize yourself with the field of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Diagnostics or specifically deepen your existing knowledge. You are motivated to accompany students and junior scientists, participate in teaching and training tasks, and undertake administrative activities as well as the coordination of external internships. You have German and English skills at the highest level and can use them confidently in spoken and written form in scientific, organizational, and teaching-related contexts.
