SanMobil is organized as a non-profit association registered in the Zurich commercial register, which has established a driving service at highly discounted rates for all persons who require affordable transport by car for their medical treatments; primarily in the Zurich / Winterthur area and surroundings (agglomeration). SanMobil drives: young and old, often also children and their parents, persons with limited mobility, persons who require multiple trips (unrestricted), persons who want to take an accompanying person free of charge, without restriction of medical needs (incl. physiotherapy etc.). The SanMobil offer: Our driving service is open to all patients who want to be brought to a hospital, a doctor, a therapy, or a rehab clinic (and back if necessary) in Zurich / Winterthur or the agglomeration. Our focus is on the cities of Zurich, Winterthur and Baden. If a treatment extends over weeks (example: radiation therapy) or even years (example: dialysis), we drive, if necessary, daily and without time limitation. A folding wheelchair or walker can be taken along. Since we transport our passengers in private passenger cars, at least one step from the wheelchair into the car must be possible. The driving service SanMobil is looking for volunteer female and male drivers. The trips lead to medical or social institutions (hospitals, doctor's practices, day centers, rehabilitation) predominantly from Monday to Friday. The trips are typically assigned a few days in advance. For every female driver and male driver, tours are generally created. If possible, a tour is planned so that the travel routes are not too long and the waiting times are reasonable. As a SanMobil female or male driver, you choose your availability yourself. However, the assembly of tours – often consisting of 3 - 6 trips per (half-) day – requires that you divide your availability into days or at least into half-days (morning or afternoon). Our expectations of our valued female and male drivers: • Reliability and punctuality – a decisive plus of our driving service • Availability of a car as well as local knowledge or GPS in the car (ideally both) • Good German language skills – a prerequisite • Open-minded and flexible personality – our patients may need help • Social competence and sensitivity – especially when dealing with sick persons. The largest part of our income goes as remuneration to our female and male drivers. Only a small part of it is spent on IT infrastructure, driver insurance etc. Thus, you receive compensation for the use of your car. However, our customer rates are so low that you would be in the wrong place with us if you want to earn your living with our remuneration. If, however, you like driving cars, supporting fellow human beings, and appreciate contact with the great variety of customer personalities, then you are exactly right with us.
