August 2027 a Lecturer in Moving Image with Module Responsibility 35% – 45% Your tasks We are looking for a personality with an independent film-artistic practice and teaching experience in the field of time-based media. You understand moving image as a contemporary, narrative, and experimental field within social and technological developments. Your film practice moves between analog and digital processes and combines filmic means with media-hybrid as well as generative image processes. An active network in the film or animation scene is required. As a Lecturer Development and implementation of teaching formats for the conveyance of methodical and technical foundations of time-based media, especially narrative and visual competencies (incl. Co-Teaching). Conveying a reflected understanding of narrative, creative, and dramaturgical strategies at the interface of film, animation, and hybrid audiovisual formats. Didactically founded support of individual work processes, from research to presentation. Supporting students in the development of an artistic-filmic position and visual language. Promoting a technically sound as well as critically-reflected handling of traditional as well as contemporary technologies and moving image media – from analog film via stop-motion to AI/CGI. Promoting an experimental, interdisciplinary way of working. Supervision and mentoring of students in the portfolio process. As Module Responsible Overall responsibility for the content, organizational, and personnel planning, implementation, and further development of the responsible module according to specifications. Lateral leadership of the lecturers and teaching staff active in the module; in particular ensuring communication, promoting cooperation, and coordinating work assignments. Recruitment of teaching staff in consultation with the Vorkurs management. Planning and distribution of resources and material assets within the module. Ensuring the didactic quality and currency of the teaching. Quality assurance and qualitative further development of the module, incl. feedback to the lecturers. Participation in the professional, organizational, and personnel further development of the Gestalterischer Vorkurs. Representation of the subject area Moving Image in the core team as well as within the Department Design Film Kunst. Active participation in exchange, planning, evaluation, and development forums as well as participation in strategic issues. Your Profile You have a completed university degree (Master or Diploma) in the field of film, animation, or a related discipline. You have a current and independent artistic-filmic practice. You have teaching experience at a university or a Gestalterischer Vorkurs. A certificate in higher education didactics can be acquired as part of the employment. You know current methods, technologies, and discourses in the field of moving image and integrate these into your teaching. Your teaching is project- and process-oriented. You know the film and/or animation scene, are visible in it, and are excellently networked. You are a strong communicator and reliable personality with pronounced cooperation and social skills. You think and work interdisciplinarily and enjoy team-oriented cooperation. You possess organizational competencies and are experienced in the independent planning and implementation of projects and teaching units. You have very good German language skills.
