Course Leader for Promotion Course - «move:up» for Young People, 5 %

In the free movement promotion course «move:up», young people from the 1st to 3rd secondary level from the city of Zürich with a lack of exercise, overweight or low self-confidence are supported through individualized strength and endurance training in a small weight room or play and sports units in the sports hall to improve their fitness, increase exercise time and competence, build self-confidence and develop a joy of exercise. For this, we are looking for a qualified and motivated person from mid-August 2026. Tasks ## • You will accompany a group of around 8 to a maximum of 16 young people from the 1st to 3rd secondary school during one or two lessons per week of 90 minutes each in the weight room and in the sports hall • You will plan and design an individual and age-appropriate strength and endurance program and orient yourself to the current standards of training science • You will specifically promote the body awareness, coordination, condition and self-confidence of the children - with the goal of sensitizing them to the importance of exercise and supporting the young people in integrating exercise into their daily routine • You will ensure a safe and inclusive atmosphere in which every young person feels welcome and valued - regardless of their exercise competence • You will handle the equipment and rooms carefully • You will be responsible for the administration of your course: initial contact with the young people and their parents, keeping attendance lists, managing registrations and deregistrations, submitting regular reports to the sports office • Willingness to lead a course until the end of the school year For the following course, a qualified and motivated course leader is being sought: • move:up, every Wednesday, 14:00 - 15:30 and Friday, 16:15-17:45 for secondary school students (1st-3rd sec), in the weight room and sports hall of the Buhnrain school Profile ## • Studies in sports or movement science or sports pedagogy, J+S leader training • Completed training as a youth and sports leader (school sports, gymnastics or indoor sports) or willingness to complete this training • Further training in MTT, APA, J+S inclusive or sports + disability (PluSport) • Training and/or experience in hall training and equipment training in the weight room • Enthusiasm for sports and exercise and exercise promotion • Experience in instructing young people in the field of sports and training • Experience with children with special needs or J+S disability training • Interested and motivated to conceive individual training and further develop the course together with the person in charge • Organizational talent with a high sense of responsibility We offer ## • Meaningful work with young people • Part-time employment with the opportunity to gain teaching experience at the secondary level • Content-related support and further training opportunities • Optionally, one or two weekly lessons can be taken over, please indicate your preference when applying Apply Apply About us ## The sports office is a department of the school and sports department of the city of Zürich. It is the competence center for sports promotion and provides the sports facilities, including indoor and outdoor pools, to the sports-loving population and clubs. The organization of compulsory swimming lessons and voluntary school sports are also among the core tasks of the sports office. With targeted information, the sports office motivates people to exercise more and advises and supports sports organizations.
