Neuchâtel, Switzerland (and home office) | 100-100% Your contribution <br /> • Assume general strategic responsibility for the Data Management Unit, including data management, data science/AI and the Swiss MicroDataCenter (SMDC) • Assume responsibility for the implementation of the FSO data strategy and actively contribute to the definition of national data policy as the Swiss Data Steward • Assume general responsibility for the further strategic development of key data infrastructures (registers, metadata platforms, data access services) • Strategically lead the use of data science and artificial intelligence for the further development of statistical production • Represent and promote the FSO within national and international bodies dealing with standards, data spaces and secondary use of data • Contribute to the definition of strategic orientations and the further development of the FSO as a member of the Executive Board <br /> What distinguishes you <br /> • University degree in natural or social sciences (a doctorate is a preferred qualification), supplemented by continuing education in data science, economic sciences or administrative sciences • Several years of management experience at corporate management level, including proven experience in managing complex and large-scale transformation projects • Proven know-how in data policy, data governance and digitalization of public administrations, as well as solid knowledge of the structures and processes of the Federal Administration • Political intuition and experience in representation within national and international bodies as well as in stakeholder management at the crossroads of public administration, politics and the scientific world • Active knowledge of two official languages and passive knowledge of a third as well as excellent knowledge of English (C1 level) <br /> In summary As Head of the Data Management Unit and Deputy Director of the FSO, you will hold a key role at the intersection of data, technology and public administrations. You will be responsible for the further strategic development of national data infrastructures and will be in charge of positioning the FSO as a central operator in the Swiss state data ecosystem. As a member of the Executive Board, you will actively contribute to defining the Confederation's data policy with strategic foresight and entrepreneurial spirit.
