Your Impact as Senior Energy Trading Manager: Energy Vault is seeking a Senior Energy Trading Manager to lead the day-ahead and real-time energy and ancillary services offers of our utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) fleet in ERCOT and CAISO, with the possibility of expanding to other ISO/RTO markets as our Asset Vault portfolio grows. You will be responsible for the trading strategy of our assets - executing offers using Energy Vault's internal software and forecasting tools, following QSE and Scheduling Coordinator operating procedures, and intervening through manual trading when market conditions require. This is a senior position with broad influence on market analysis, optimization, product, and engineering, reporting to the Senior Director of Data Science and Optimization. The selected candidate combines deep market expertise with strong analytical skills to make informed trading decisions, improve bidding strategies, and collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and asset operations teams to continuously improve trading performance. As an experienced energy trader, you will use our internal software and oversee Day-Ahead (DA) positions to allocate energy storage capacity between Day-Ahead, Real-Time (RT), and ancillary services energy markets, and monitor RT transactions and dispatches. \\n Your Mission: • * Establish frameworks and success metrics used to evaluate trading performance; monitor performance and risk metrics daily and communicate results transparently to internal stakeholders and external partners. • * Participate in the physical management and optimization of BESS assets, executing energy and ancillary services offers in day-ahead and real-time markets using Energy Vault's internal software and forecasting tools. • * Oversee the day-ahead trading strategy, developing views on market fundamentals to guide the daily allocation of BESS capacity between Day-Ahead, Real-Time, and ancillary services energy markets. • * Act as the team's technical expert on wholesale electricity trading, market fundamentals, bidding strategy, and ISO protocols and operations. • * Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and asset operations teams to evaluate and refine programmatic optimization and Energy Vault software development; translate analytical findings into product requirements and roadmap priorities. • * Develop processes and frameworks to identify likely transmission constraints in day-ahead and real-time markets and integrate these expectations to adjust the optimization strategy appropriately. • * Contribute to Energy Vault's understanding of appropriate hedging activities to ensure adequate long-term storage revenues from purchase contracts; potentially execute in futures and options markets for energy price volatility when opportunities arise. • * Monitor regulatory developments and changes
