Head of Dermato-Surgery

The University Clinic for Dermatology of the Inselspital Bern is among the leading dermatology clinics in Switzerland. The Dermato-Surgery department is responsible for a wide range of outpatient and inpatient services -- from oncological and Mohs surgery to reconstructive procedures and laser medicine. As a strategically important pillar of the clinic, Dermato-Surgery works closely with the Skin Tumor Center, Dermatopathology, Plastic Surgery, and Oncology. We are looking for an entrepreneurially minded, medically excellent personality to lead this department. What to expect <br /> • Operative and strategic management of the Dermato-Surgery department: personnel management, process design, quality assurance. • Independent performance of the entire dermato-surgical service spectrum: excisions, Mohs surgery, reconstructive procedures, as well as laser-surgical treatments. • Overall responsibility for dermato-surgical care -- including capacity planning and further development of the service offering. • Maintenance and further development of cooperations with Plastic Surgery, Oncology, Dermatopathology, and other specialist disciplines. • Responsibility for teaching and further training of assistant physicians as well as students in Dermato-Surgery. • Initiation and management of clinical research projects involving the department. <br /> What you bring with you <br /> • FMH specialist title for Dermatology and Venereology with proven, multi-year expertise in dermato-surgery. • Profound experience in Mohs surgery and reconstructive techniques. • Initial leadership experience or a pronounced interest in leading a department with conviction and personal responsibility. • Entrepreneurial thinking: You strategically develop the surgical offering and think beyond the operating room. • Joy in the training and promotion of young colleagues as well as in interdisciplinary cooperation. • Scientific interest and willingness for active participation in research and teaching. • Confident German and English in spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge of the French language (or willingness to acquire it quickly). • Confident, collegial demeanor and high communicative competence. <br /> Our offer <br /> • Leadership function with scope for design: You actively shape the orientation, the team, and the processes of the department. • Access to state-of-the-art infrastructure: laser technology, Mohs laboratory, molecular pathological diagnostics. • Academic development opportunities: Habilitation, international congress participation, own research lines -- with institutional support. • A well-coordinated, collegial team that is waiting with joy for a new leadership personality. • Attractive employment conditions (incl. further training time, staff restaurant, daycare center, discounts). • Location Bern: high quality of life, very good transport connections, international environment. <br /> Questions about the position?
