The Strafabteilung of the Regionalgericht Bern-Mittelland judges criminal offenses committed by adults in the Bern-Mittelland region, which reach the court either as a result of an objection to a penal order or due to an indictment by the public prosecutor's office. Approximately 40 people work in the Strafabteilung, distributed across various functions.
