HEAD OF MEDICAL PRODUCTS AND MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD Swissmedic is the Swiss authorization and supervisory authority for medicinal products and medical devices. It ensures that only high-quality, safe, and effective remedies are available in Switzerland, thereby making an important contribution to the protection of human and animal health. The Medical Device Surveillance division comprises approx. 60 employees and manages a very large product range. Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for, as of 1. March 2027 or by arrangement, a Head of Medical Products and Member of the Executive Board Your tasks You lead the Medical Device Surveillance division financially, personally, organizationally, and professionally, and ensure that the tasks assigned to the division are carried out in compliance with the law, efficiently, and effectively within the framework of the available financial resources. You ensure that the importance of a strong and internationally equivalent market surveillance in the field of medical devices is recognized nationally by the supervised industry and healthcare institutions as well as by stakeholders. In addition, you promote coordination and cooperation with national and international authorities and institutions in the field of medical devices. As a member of the Executive Board, you actively help shape the future of the institute and play a decisive role in the development and implementation of the strategy. You actively support cross-divisional process harmonization and digitalization and accompany these with prudent change management. Your profile You have a Master's degree from a university or university of applied sciences as well as several years of professional experience in the MedTech or pharmaceutical industry, ideally in a regulated environment. You bring sound business administration knowledge as well as an understanding of and interest in the healthcare system, the authorization and supervisory procedures, and the processes of public administration. As an experienced leader, you move confidently in demanding organizational structures. Transformations, digitalization initiatives, as well as project and change management are part of your track record. You think strategically and analytically, act proactively and solution-oriented, and convince through high social competence. With your strong communication skills in German, English, and French, your political intuition, and your strength in stakeholder management, you also appear sovereign and convincing internationally.
