WHO YOU ARE As an apprentice at IKEA Schweiz, you are not on your own - you are part of a large apprentice community. Together you will experience how exciting and varied it is to work in an international company, to take on responsibility and to develop yourselves. Because during your apprenticeship, we show you step by step everything you need to stand confidently in professional life after your training and to achieve your own goals. In the field of Polydesign 3D (with us the department is called «Home Furnishing & Retail Design»), you are right in the middle of creativity: You design our exhibitions, sales areas and living examples so that they inspire people and give them ideas for their home. You help to turn a home furnishing store into a world where people like to stay, discover new things and most of all want to come back. You don't have to know everything yet! The important thing is that you are curious, enjoy learning and want to contribute to IKEA. In order for you to fit well with us, ideally you bring the following: • You are strongly interested in design and furnishing - for example, you like to decorate your room, collect decor ideas on social media or try out creative projects yourself. • You have a good eye for shapes, colors and proportions and find it exciting to design rooms so that they look beautiful and are practical at the same time. • You are creative but also pragmatic: You have ideas, but can also deal with time pressure or limited space and look for solutions that are truly implementable. • You like to be on the move, roll up your sleeves and feel comfortable in an environment where things can also move quickly. • You enjoy working in a team, for example during group work in school or in a club, but can also complete tasks independently. • You are confident in using a computer or tablet and want to work with design or planning programs (e.g. AutoCAD or similar tools) - initial experience is great, but not a must. • You speak very good German and already understand a little English. You are responsible for • You learn how to design sales areas and exhibitions together with your team - so that our customers get real living ideas for their homes and enjoy spending time in the home furnishing store. • You practice how to represent different styles and living situations with our IKEA product range - from smaller budgets to more elaborate solutions, suitable for different life stages and needs. • You develop new, creative and functional furnishing solutions that match the current wishes of our customers - for example for small rooms, families, home office or first own apartment. • You work together with various departments - for example with sales and logistics - so that your ideas not only look good, but are also practically implementable and the right products are in the right place at the right time. • You learn to work carefully and safely: You pay attention to order, adhere to safety rules and help to protect people, products and work equipment.
