Social Work Specialist 100% Start of employment: or by arrangement Work location: Burgdorf The Regional Prison Burgdorf is the most modern prison in the Canton of Bern and stands for a safe, structured, and responsible execution of various types of detention. With around 160 inmates and 60 employees, we ensure orderly operations and high security standards daily. We orient ourselves by the motto: "Security today and tomorrow. October 2026 or by arrangement a Social Work Specialist. You accompany and advise committed persons (EP) during execution, shape their execution processes, and work closely with various specialist offices and partners. Your tasks In this function, you ensure professional advice for the EP according to the standards of statutory Social Work and guarantee a high-quality reporting system towards referrers, courts, and other partners. You create, accompany, and evaluate individual execution plans. You ensure legally correct management of the EP accounts, involving subsidiary cost bearers, and coordinate release management. In doing so, you work interdisciplinary with the involved specialist offices and contribute to professional and effective execution work. Your profile You possess a federal diploma, a Bachelor or Master in Social Work and bring 3 to 4 years of professional experience in this area, preferably with a comparable clientele. Further training in areas specific to penal execution is a plus. You have very good German and oral and written skills. Further language skills are welcome. You convince through strong communication skills, empathy, intercultural competence, and teamwork. Your structured way of working as well as your planning and organizational skills distinguish you.
