Start of position: 1 January 2027 Work location: Bern For the Archaeological Conservation department of the Archaeological Service of the Canton of Bern, we are looking for a Responsible for Finds Management / Preventive Conservation & Deputy Department Head (permanent, 80-100%) as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement. Your tasks <br /> • Management of finds management and preventive conservation • Deputy management of the Archaeological Conservation department • Planning, coordination and prioritization of tasks and projects, taking into account resources as well as scientific necessities • Responsibility for the maintenance, care and monitoring of the depot and archive rooms and their infrastructures • Development and implementation of processes and planning of technical adjustments in cooperation with the department head, colleagues and external partners <br /> Your profile You enjoy working in a team and are characterized by an independent as well as reliable and careful way of working and a high level of commitment. Additionally, you bring: • University degree, preferably in conservation-restoration or archaeology • Professional experience in the areas of finds management / inventory or preventive conservation • Leadership experience is an advantage • Native language German or French, with good knowledge of the other language (level B2 required or to be achieved) • Good database knowledge and technical understanding of devices <br /> We offer you We offer an interesting, responsible task with full or part-time workload in the cultural policy environment of the Canton of Bern with the opportunity to actively help shape your own work area and support the line management.
