Head of Labor Law, Labor Market and GAV Policy (100%) The Arbeitgeberverband Region Basel is one of the largest regional employers' associations in Switzerland. We represent the interests of more than 2'600 member companies from industry, services, trade and other sectors. As an independent association, we advocate for attractive framework conditions, a high-performance labor market, strong vocational training and a competitive economic location in Northwestern Switzerland. For our office in Basel, we are looking for a committed, professionally strong, creative and resilient person as Head of Labor Law, Labor Market and GAV Policy (100%) starting in the 1st quarter of 2027 or by agreement as part of a succession arrangement following the retirement of the current job holder. In this key role, you will take on responsibility for central dossiers of the association. You will advise our member companies on labor and social insurance law issues, represent the employers' interests in political and association committees, and further develop our range of services in line with the needs of our member companies. The function offers a lot of creative leeway in a dynamic team of the office. Therefore, we are not only looking for a service-oriented and customer-centric person, but also someone who combines professional depth with political flair, entrepreneurial spirit and implementation strength. Your tasks You will advise and inform our member companies on labor law, social insurance law and personnel policy issues. In doing so, you will combine legal precision with pragmatic understanding of the operational reality of our members. You will be responsible for the areas of labor law, labor market and GAV policy. This includes negotiating, editing and interpreting collective labor agreements, as well as accompanying labor market and social policy dossiers at cantonal and national level. You will represent the employers' association in association, state and political committees. You will draft consultations, statements and publications on labor market, economic and social policy topics and convincingly represent the positions of the association vis-à-vis authorities, politics, social partners and other stakeholders. You will further develop projects and services for our member companies. This includes, in particular, specialist events, seminars, working groups, publications and other formats with which we support our members in practice and strengthen our positioning as a modern employers' association. You will lead a small team of specialists and work closely with the management and other dossier responsibles in the office. You will also give lectures at our own and external specialist events and contribute to reports, minutes and other association publications. Your profile You have a university degree in law. A lawyer's patent is an advantage, but not mandatory. Decisive are in-depth knowledge of labor law, a good understanding of social insurance law issues and several years of professional experience in a legal, association, entrepreneurial or politically oriented function. You are also familiar with the specific labor market-related needs of the Basel region and its location as a border region. You are interested in political, social and economic issues. You identify with a liberal economic attitude and can represent employers' interests in a factual, credible and effective manner. You work independently, structured and expeditiously. You write securely, argue precisely and convincingly present yourself to different stakeholder groups. You have a good general education, high self-responsibility and the ability to prepare complex issues in a understandable and solution-oriented way and are resilient. You are service- and member-oriented, but do not just think administratively. We are looking for a personality who recognizes developments, takes up new needs of member companies and derives concrete offers, formats and projects from them.
