Berne, Switzerland | 100-100% What you can contribute <br /> • Lead the new Growth Policy sector comprising five employees and develop it on strategic, technical, and organizational levels • Shape Swiss economic policy as a member of the Directorate's management team • Analyze economic framework conditions and oversee the preparation of the Federal Council's report on growth • Identify potential measures to be taken and develop reform options to strengthen Switzerland's potential growth • Define SECO's strategic lines and positions regarding central growth issues • Represent Switzerland within international organizations and maintain contacts in Switzerland and abroad <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • Master's or, ideally, a doctorate in political economy, specialization in macroeconomics • Several years of experience as a specialist and executive manager, in-depth knowledge of economic policy • Analytical mind, taste for politics, and capacity for strategic thinking regarding complex economic issues • Willingness to contribute to a growth policy that strengthens productivity, competitiveness, and prosperity • Clear and goal-oriented leadership, sense of responsibility, stress resistance, networked thinking, and clear communication, taste for cross-functional collaboration and networking • Very good active knowledge of two official languages as well as English <br /> In a few words The Directorate for Economic Policy shapes the strategic foundations of Swiss economic policy. It combines economic analysis, perspective-taking from an economic policy angle, and implementation in law and administrative practice. It works to ensure framework conditions that strengthen the growth, productivity, and attractiveness of the Swiss economic location and thus contribute to ensuring the long-term prosperity of Switzerland. As SECO's think tank on fundamental economic issues, it works at the interface of politics, administration, research, and the economy. The creation of the new Growth Policy sector within the Directorate aims to strengthen the foundations of Switzerland's long-term prosperity. The sector will be responsible for analyzing national and international developments from a growth policy perspective and preparing reform options to ensure a high-performing economy. Particular emphasis will be placed on issues related to foreign trade, protectionism and industrial policy abroad, digitalization, as well as the financial market and the housing market. The sector will also be responsible for the OECD economic survey dedicated to Switzerland and the sectoral research conducted by the Directorate.
