To support this mission, the Syngenta hiring team is looking for an Onsite, Team Leader Nursery (m/f/d) in Stein, Switzerland. For our nursery team in Stein AG, we are looking for a dedicated leader who produces high-quality plant material for biological research - and actively helps shape innovation, digitalization, and team culture. Your Tasks Production & Quality • Planning and implementation of all horticultural work as well as provision of soil mixes in constantly high quality • Quality management of plant cultivation including demand-oriented measures • Development and optimization of cultivation methods to increase quality and process efficiency Digitalization & Innovation • Driving the digitalization of greenhouse processes and quality assurance • Identification of improvement opportunities and automation potential (e.g., irrigation) as well as active accompaniment of their introduction • Use of digital tools for planning, documentation, and reporting Leadership & Collaboration • Overall responsibility for personnel management and technical matters of the team • Representation of plant production in cross-functional teams; close exchange with research and engineering • Independent solving of challenges and transparent communication Safety & Compliance • Ensuring current risk analyses, work regulations, and permits; regular staff training • Professional management, documentation, and presentation of internal team projects   Qualifications ## Professional Qualifications • Completed training as a Master Gardener, Environmental Engineer FH Horticulture, or comparable, with several years of professional experience • Leadership experience, ideally in a matrix organization • Affinity for technology, digitalization, and automation; MS Office skills • Fluent German and English skills (B2-C1); driver's license an advantage Personal strengths - Syngenta Leadership Behaviours • Curious - Curious, open to new technologies, questions the status quo • Collaborative - Works at eye level, shares knowledge, promotes team growth • Accountable - High sense of responsibility, open error culture, respect for people and the environment • Courageous - Addresses challenges directly, takes responsibility, drives changes forward • Willingness for occasional Sunday and holiday shifts Additional Information ## What we offer: • Responsible key role with real opportunities for shaping process optimization and digital transformation • Awarded as a «Friendly Work Space» - Syngenta is actively committed to the health and well-being of its employees • Respectful, collegial working atmosphere in which new ideas are actively encouraged • Measurable contribution to human food security • Integration into an international, scientifically oriented research environment Application Do you feel addressed?
