Head of Automotive Technology Department 100% # The Automotive Technology department of the Technische Berufsschule Zürich TBZ is the competence center for the initial and continuing education of automotive and coachbuilding professions. Around 600 apprentices are taught in basic education, supplemented by a continuing education offering with approximately 40 students in courses preparing for professional examinations, higher specialist examinations, and certificate completions. At the beginning of the spring semester 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for a committed and strong-leadership personality as Head of Automotive Technology Department. The function is performed in a co-leadership model. Together with your leadership partner, you bear the overall responsibility for the department and shape its strategic, personnel, pedagogical, and organizational further development. Your tasks ### Your core tasks include, in particular, the personnel leadership, promotion, and development of the approximately 40 teachers, the assurance of a high-quality and reliable school operation, as well as the planning, management, and responsibility for financial and personnel resources. In addition, you are responsible for further developing the educational offerings and instruction in close cooperation with the stakeholders of vocational education. The maintenance and expansion of cooperation with associations, companies, ÜK-Zentren, and other partners, as well as active participation in the extended school management of the TBZ and co-shaping of school development, round off your area of responsibility. Your profile ### You have several years of teaching and leadership experience at the secondary level II and ideally bring a broad network in the automotive industry. You know how to lead people, bring different interests together, and implement changes in a goal-oriented manner. A completed university degree (FH, ETH, or university) in a subject area relevant to automotive technology or a comparable education belongs to your educational portfolio just as much as a teaching diploma for vocational schools (EHB, PHZH, or equivalent qualification). You have either already completed school management training or would be willing to complete it promptly. Proven leadership skills as well as a high degree of communication and cooperation skills are also decisive competencies that you bring with you.
