Head of Living, Working and Social Affairs 90 - 100 %

The Red Cross Basel is a non-profit organization with around 190 employees, committed to people in the health, social, education and migration sectors. The Living, Working and Social Affairs department offers people with predominantly mental disabilities opportunities for participation in stationary and ambulatory living support as well as in supervised workplaces in two second-hand shops. At the center of the care activities are stability, participation, self-determination and the individual development of the clients. As part of the further development of the department, we are looking for a committed, leadership-strong and entrepreneurially thinking personality as Head of Living, Working and Social Affairs 90-100 % from February 1, 2027 or by agreement. In this responsible function, you will lead the department from a technical and business management perspective and be a member of the management team. You will ensure that the offers are technically convincing, economically viable and in line with cantonal requirements and the standards of the Red Cross Basel, and are managed and further developed accordingly. This includes • Overall responsibility for leadership, organization and further development of the department • Leadership of several small teams • Combining social pedagogical expertise with business management and entrepreneurial thinking, particularly in the areas of work and Red Cross shops • Budgeting, budget control, performance accounting, data preparation, reporting • Quality assurance and implementation of internal and external audits • Central contact person for specialist offices, authorities, cantonal offices, contractual partners, clients and other stakeholder groups You bring • Master's degree (FH, Uni) in Social Pedagogy, Social Work, Social Management, Business Administration or comparable degree • Further training in leadership and finance • Several years of professional and leadership experience in a social institution, ideally with a comparable thematic focus • Business management knowledge (knowledge of IBB, IHP and IVSE is an advantage) • Experience with performance mandates, documentation, controlling and reporting • Communication strength and negotiating skills in dealing with different stakeholder groups • A mature, authentic and socially competent personality with resilience, assertiveness, pragmatism, good self-organization and an energetic attitude We expect you to have • A versatile and meaningful leadership task with scope for design • A committed environment with short decision-making paths and great proximity to the everyday life of residents, clients and employees • Modern employment conditions as well as a value-oriented work environment
