Fire Protection Expert for Preventive Fire Protection (m/f/d) # 80%-100%, Zürich, permanent #### print Print The Safety, Health and Environment (SGU) department advises, supports, and trains all organizational units and members of ETH Zürich on questions regarding safety and health in the workplace. It is the contact point for all centrally organized measures in dealing with hazards and risks for the protection of people, animals, material assets, infrastructure, and the environment, as well as for questions regarding the fulfillment of the corresponding legal requirements. For emergency cases, it maintains an appropriate emergency organization. Both in everyday life and in the event of an incident, it works closely with the authorities and external emergency services. In the area of Fire and Explosion Protection (BEx), we are responsible for the ETH-wide organization and coordination of structural, technical, and organizational measures: these include, for example, the development and updating of internal concepts, of structural-technical specifications and fact sheets, leadership or participation in integral safety concepts, as well as the control of their implementation. In addition, we ensure the information and training of ETH members and contribute our technical expertise to construction projects. The digital documentation of the quality assurance measures carried out is also part of our tasks. In order to be able to fulfill these tasks professionally and effectively, we are looking for an engaged, expert, and loyal personality as a Fire Protection Expert for Preventive Fire Protection (m/f/d), starting immediately or by arrangement. Job Description ## Are you ready to take responsibility for fire and explosion protection in everyday university life in a motivated team? Do you maintain an overview even in the event of an incident? Then you are exactly right for us: In this function, you accompany construction projects at ETH Zürich and support users, project managers, and specialist planners with your expertise in fire protection issues. In cooperation with authorities and planners, you look for suitable fire protection solutions for ETH. You review new and existing fire protection concepts and proactively contribute optimization suggestions. You also form the interface to the other sections within SGU for construction and project inquiries. Furthermore, you advise users and operations on questions regarding the handling and storage of hazardous substances and explosion protection. You develop and review concepts and internal specifications, and coordinate the creation and modification of fire protection documents, such as fire and fire protection plans.
