Head of Building Construction Specialist Unit (m/f/d, 80-100%) The Birsfelden municipal administration is a modernly managed service company that performs diverse tasks for around 10,500 inhabitants in a challenging environment. To complement our team, we are looking for a motivated and committed personality with a passion for building construction as of 1 October 2026 or by arrangement. In the role of Head of Building Construction Specialist Unit (m/f/d, 80-100%) you bear the responsibility for the building construction area of activity. This includes, among other things, taking on the role of client project manager in construction projects as well as the construction management of maintenance projects for municipal properties. Furthermore, you are responsible for the building permit process within the municipality. You are part of a motivated team. With your experience in project management as well as in the planning and realization of building construction projects, you make a significant contribution to the success of the department. Your main tasks are: Project planning and realization of municipal building construction projects incl. cost and schedule responsibility Responsible for value preservation, operation, and functionality of municipal properties together with the Real Estate Specialist Unit Planning, tendering, and construction management of small and medium-sized construction projects Condition assessment of municipal properties & facilities (incl. maintenance planning) as support for portfolio management Technical specialist support for the caretakers Review and processing of building and advertising applications as well as advising the population, the clients, and the authorities on building law matters Collaboration in spatial and land-use planning as well as support for residential building developments and development plans For these activities, you bring with you: Completed training as an architect or in a construction-related field with corresponding further education Several years of professional experience with in-depth knowledge in the planning, construction, or real estate environment Structured way of working as well as conflict and communication skills and proficient German Experience in project management as well as, advantageously, experience in processing building applications Independence, high sense of responsibility as well as a careful, efficient, and reliable way of working We offer you: Scope for design to further develop the municipality A versatile, varied, and innovative working environment Progressive employment conditions and attractive development opportunities A well-accessible, modern place of work on the outskirts of Basel In case of interest and suitability: possibility to perform active fire service in the daytime standby duty of the Birsfelden fire department Have we aroused your interest?
