Neuenburg, Schweiz (and home office) | 100-10% This is your contribution <br /> • Bear overall strategic responsibility for the Data Directorate including data management, data science/AI and Swiss MicroDataCenter (SMDC) • Be responsible for the implementation of the BFS data strategy and actively help shape national data policy as the Swiss Data Steward • Bear overall responsibility for the strategic further development of central data infrastructures (registers, metadata platforms, data access services) • Strategically steer the use of data science and artificial intelligence for the further development of statistical production • Represent and position the BFS in national and international committees on data standards, data spaces and secondary use • Share responsibility for the strategic orientation and further development of the BFS as a member of the Executive Board <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • University degree in natural or social sciences (PhD an advantage), supplemented by further training in data, economic or administrative sciences • Many years of leadership experience at the Executive Board level including proven experience in managing large, complex transformation projects • Proven expertise in data policy, data governance and digitalization of administration as well as sound knowledge of the structures and processes of the Federal Administration • Political intuition as well as experience in representation in national and international committees and in stakeholder management at the interface of administration, politics and science • Active knowledge of two official languages and passive knowledge of the third official language as well as excellent English skills (C1) <br /> In a nutshell As Head of the Data Directorate and Deputy Director of the BFS, you will take on a key role at the interface of data, technology and public administration. You are responsible for the strategic further development of national data infrastructures and position the BFS as a central actor in the state data ecosystem of Switzerland. As a member of the Executive Board, you will actively help shape the data policy of the Confederation with strategic foresight and entrepreneurial thinking.
