Financial Accountant Join the Finance department as a Financial Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Team Lead, and help us maintain the highest standards of financial accuracy, compliance and reporting excellence. In this role, you will evolve in a dynamic environment, managing a wide variety of accounting and financial reporting activities. You will use your analytical skills on a daily basis, provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making, and proactively identify opportunities for process and control improvements. More broadly, your role will consist of ensuring that all transactions and business events relevant to the company's financial position are recorded accurately, completely and systematically. With your team, you will ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, regulatory requirements, policies and standards. You will contribute to providing internal and external stakeholders with a clear and reliable view of the company's financial position and performance. As a Financial Accountant, you will also support management in financial planning, analysis and reporting. Responsibilities: • Maintain the general ledger, prepare accounting entries and produce various accounting schedules/reconciliations in accordance with different accounting frameworks, either for the bank in Switzerland (IFRS and ARB-FINMA), or for one of the foreign subsidiaries (local standards). • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings. Actively participate in semi-annual and annual closings, with responsibility for specific topics and the notes to the financial statements. This includes preparing responses to external auditors. • Examine and resolve accounting discrepancies, unusual movements and aged items. • Review accounting entries, provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses and other accounting adjustments. • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of banking operations and financial instruments. • Support the preparation of statutory and management financial statements. • Contribute to the preparation of consolidated financial reporting where applicable. • Take charge of accounting projects assigned by Management. • Provide accounting advice and implement appropriate solutions for complex accounting questions and requests from different departments and group entities abroad. • Prepare various regulatory statements (e.g., for the BNS or FINMA) according to assigned tasks. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or economics. • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the banking sector. • Proficiency in French and English (oral and written) required. • You are adaptable and experienced in managing complex financial issues in a dynamic environment. • You are meticulous, able to collaborate cross-functionally and work on multiple topics in parallel, attentive to detail with excellent organizational skills. • Good understanding of the banking sector, with the ability to see the big picture and understand the wider financial context. • You have experience with IFRS and generally accepted accounting principles in Switzerland (accounting rules for banks "ARB-FINMA" are a plus). • Your MS Office skills (especially Excel) are excellent.
