• 05 August 2026 • 100% • Indefinite duration • Aarau Do you wish to actively contribute to the strategic development of a major Swiss energy company? This key role reports directly to the CEO. You will work in close collaboration with management, lead a team of two employees, and develop concrete initiatives as well as innovations with new business opportunities based on strategic questions. At the same time, you will evolve sustainability management and strengthen AEW's positioning in the political and regulatory environment. ### Your tasks • You lead the Business Development & Collaboration functional unit with two employees both professionally and personally and continually evolve the areas of responsibility. • In close coordination with management, you conduct the annual strategic review and perform in-depth analysis of certain strategic development areas. You work in close collaboration with financial controlling. • You translate the strategic orientation into concrete initiatives and manage the strategic project portfolio as well as the strategic steering tools of the business segments. • You shape innovation management and evaluate new products, services, and business opportunities with the commercial divisions - from the initial idea to incubation through to transfer to the operational line. • You evolve sustainability management, are responsible for the annual ESG reporting including the audit, and coordinate measures to achieve sustainability goals. • You coordinate AEW's political interests in the field of public affairs in close consultation with the CEO. In collaboration with the relevant internal departments, you develop coordinated positions, represent them to the owner, the canton of Aargau, and defend AEW's interests in the relevant sectoral bodies. This includes participation in the central team of our sectoral association Regiogrid as well as coordination with the Association of Swiss Electricity Companies VSE. Your profile • You have a university degree, for example in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, energy or environmental sciences, or an equivalent qualification. • You have several years of experience in business or strategy development, strategic consulting, or a comparable function. • You are familiar with strategic development and steering processes and have experience in analyzing complex issues, developing solid decision-making bases, and implementing strategic initiatives. • Ideally, you already have experience in the areas of innovation management, sustainability and ESG, strategic portfolio management, or public affairs. • Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or a political or regulatory environment is an advantage. • You combine strong analytical and conceptual skills with entrepreneurial thinking as well as a pragmatic, agile, and implementation-oriented approach. • You communicate convincingly, prepare complex content clearly and adapted to the audience, and are comfortable in exchanges with management. You work in partnership and in a business-oriented manner with various internal and external stakeholder groups. • You enjoy leading two employees both professionally and personally. Management experience is an asset. Solid experience in leading projects, teams, or interdisciplinary working groups is also appreciated. • Very good command of German and a good knowledge of English complete your profile.
