Java Backend Software Engineer (76049) Task We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Software Engineer for one of our customers. The ART (Agile Release Train) Capacity Control takes care of the development, operation, and training of products in the field of automation of operational railway operations. Every day, more than 10'000 trains run over the rail network, which are automatically controlled, monitored, and optimized with our products. In this complex and highly exciting environment, the existing rail-critical products are further developed to further optimize and automate rail traffic. With approximately ten agile teams, the product range of Capacity Control is managed E2E from conception to operation together with the business. This is in the tension field of high-availability and rail-critical systems as well as their future-oriented further development - always with the goal of ensuring the priority "Rail under control" without impairment of ongoing operations. Many exciting challenges in a very rail-production-oriented environment are waiting to be tackled with us. The Wombat team works in this environment in the areas of timetable, optimization, and infrastructure, thereby making a significant contribution to the TMS (Traffic Management System) project. Requirements Several years (at least 4 years) of practical experience with larger projects and with high-availability applications * Java-Framework: Java 21 / Boot * SQL / Hibernate * Cloud-native development (OpenShift / Helm / Docker / GIT) * Experience in messaging and event-driven applications HF- / part-time further education (4-6 semesters) or equivalent (BSc, DAS) Good German skills (at least C1), Good knowledge of English Ability to take on conceptual tasks with a high degree of freedom of action and decision-making, and the willingness to work in a system that has been continuously developed for 20 years. Quick ability to absorb information, especially in complex systems with high requirements; ability to quickly grasp tasks with different contents and to continue working efficiently even with frequent work interruptions.
