System design and modeling: Development and construction of photonic systems (optics and optomechanics) based on customer requirements and application needs. Optimization of designs with regard to performance, manufacturability, and cost. Development and design of optical components such as lenses and filters for integration into complex systems. Ongoing optimization and further development of optical design methods and algorithms. Close cooperation with project managers, the production team, and customers to ensure seamless optical and optomechanical integration. Participation in integration at the system level, including electronics, firmware, and software interfaces. 2. Manufacturing and production: Development and definition of manufacturing processes for optical components and photonic systems. Support of production activities including testing to ensure compliance with quality standards. Identification and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Researching and procuring optical and optomechanical components. 3. Project support: Participation in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation. Supervision of customer projects from concept to production readiness. Your profile: 1. Expertise in optics, optomechanics, and photonics: Bachelor or Master in optics, photonics, physics, or a related field. Experience in the development of optical systems and optomechanical integration. Strong problem-solving skills as well as the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop practical, efficient, and innovative solutions. Proficient use of optical design tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V) including CAD modeling software (e.g., Fusion360, SolidWorks) as well as performing tolerance calculations and performance analyses. Programming skills at an intermediate to advanced level (e.g., in C#). Knowledge of manufacturing processes for optical components and assemblies, including Design for Manufacturability (DfM). Familiarity with standards for optical components (e.g., ISO 10110) as well as validation methods for optical systems. Systems engineering thinking with the ability to understand cross-disciplinary connections. Experience working in interdisciplinary teams (mechanics, electronics, software).
