Your tasks ##
- Further development of detector systems for muon spectroscopy and support for all matters related to these systems at the SµS facility
- Research in condensed matter physics and materials science with muon spectroscopy techniques as the main methods of investigation
- Scientific and technical support of users of the SµS facility
- Presentation of research results in publications in peer-reviewed journals and at scientific conferences
- Grant applications and reports to funding agencies
- Supervision of PhD and Master students
Your profile ##
- PhD degree in Physics or an appropriate subject
- Extensive experience in muon instrumentation and the development, design, simulation, construction and commissioning of particle detectors for muon spectroscopy
- Experience in muon spectroscopy
- Experience in PCB board design, 3D CAD software, C/C++, python, GEANT4, PHITS and other simulation tools
- Enthusiastic, motivated and able to operate in a team environment
- Very good oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of German is beneficial.
