Scientist (Tenure Track)

Your tasks ##

• Further development of detector systems for muon spectroscopy and support for all matters related to these systems at the SµS facility
• Research in condensed matter physics and materials science with muon spectroscopy techniques as the main methods of investigation
• Scientific and technical support of users of the SµS facility
• Presentation of research results in publications in peer-reviewed journals and at scientific conferences
• Grant applications and reports to funding agencies
• Supervision of PhD and Master students

Your profile ##

• PhD degree in Physics or an appropriate subject
• Extensive experience in muon instrumentation and the development, design, simulation, construction and commissioning of particle detectors for muon spectroscopy
• Experience in muon spectroscopy
• Experience in PCB board design, 3D CAD software, C/C++, python, GEANT4, PHITS and other simulation tools
• Enthusiastic, motivated and able to operate in a team environment
• Very good oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of German is beneficial.
