Theoretical and practical training: The first 3 semesters of your apprenticeship will take place full-time at the Ecole Professionnelle Intercantonale de chimie (EPIC) in Monthey. The last 3 semesters will take place within the company at CIMO, under the responsibility of a trainer, with theoretical courses at EPIC at a rate of one day per week. The profession At the end of the first 3 semesters at EPIC where you will have become familiar with the basics of the profession, you will join the CIMO Laboratory Service. There, you will discover a variety of analyses, notably physico-chemical analyses as well as gas and liquid chromatography analyses, carried out mainly on water, soil, and air samples. Your days will be paced by the preparation of samples, the performance of analyses, and the reporting of results. You will also discover instrumental analytics, used to identify and quantify micropollutants present in the environment. To successfully carry out these different missions, you will use cutting-edge instruments capable of detecting and analyzing compounds at the infinitely small scale.
