Prison Officer 80 % Limited employment from 1. July 2026 to 31. December 2026 Your responsibility : You work in the early, day or late shift and ensure the care and safety of the incarcerated persons You maintain respectful contact and interaction with the incarcerated persons and communicate at eye level You care for, support and accompany the incarcerated persons professionally and situationally You are responsible for order and safety in the prison (operation of technical facilities, compliance with legal requirements and processes) You work with internal and external working partners Your background : You have experience in the justice system (specialist in justice system advantageous), security area, social pedagogical area, with blue light organizations or comparable fields of activity You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable reputation (enforcement and criminal record) You have good oral and written German language skills (foreign languages advantageous) as well as user knowledge of MS Office You possess decision-making ability and assertiveness, are resilient, set priorities in difficult situations and act calmly, de-escalating and proportionally You approach people of different cultures and religions respectfully and professionally You are team-capable, empathetic, responsible and have personal maturity You have a professional degree EFZ and/or several years of professional experience For questions about the position Anhorn Head of Muttenz Prison Write an e-mail (<>) T Department for Justice Execution/Prisons The prison system is a specialist area of the Department for Justice Execution of the Security Directorate. The different forms of detention – mainly pre-trial detention and short prison sentences – are carried out at the prison locations Muttenz, Liestal, Arlesheim and Sissach (temporarily closed).
