Playgroup Leader

The ABSM (Training and Consulting Center for Migrants) has been offering German and integration courses for young adults and women with childcare as well as a playgroup with early German language support for over 20 years. Playgroup Leader Tasks: • Identify stages of second language acquisition in children's language skills • Develop age-appropriate suggestions for promoting the German language • Teach through play - promote children's creative skills, singing or making music, telling stories, etc. • Apply different methods and games • Plan preparations that promote the group process • Guarantee the safety of the children • Regular professional exchange with colleagues at ABSM and external colleagues • Assist with administrative tasks (e.g. keeping attendance lists) Requirements / Education: • Completed course in Early Language Support • Training as a playgroup leader or training in the field of childcare / child education (e.g. specialist in childcare) • German as mother tongue or very good written and spoken German language skills at level C1 (including understanding of dialect) • Ability to empathize with children of different socio-cultural backgrounds, communicate with them and guide them to play together • Willingness to deal with the situation of children from immigrant families • Ability to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of children and guarantee adequate support • Patience, organizational skills, independence, resilience, team skills • The place of work is located in Laufen (BL) near the train station
