Civil Engineer in structural underground construction

This is what you can achieve. • In this exciting role, you will take over the technical leadership of retaining structures with a focus on structural underground construction for new construction and maintenance projects of the SBB-Infrastruktur and support the specialist areas of tunnel construction, geotechnics, and special foundation engineering. • Under your responsibility, you will check project dossiers from variant studies to preliminary and construction projects for retaining structures and open cut tunnels with regard to the correct implementation of technical regulations and qualitative requirements. In doing so, you will be in close exchange with executing project managers and specialists in monitoring. • You will undertake expert services within the SBB for the assessment of existing retaining structures and strategic and operational consulting for the implementation of construction measures. • In your role, you will further develop SBB technical specifications and guidelines for new construction and maintenance measures and for the monitoring of retaining structures. You will conduct regular coordination with the authority and actively participate in working groups for standards development. • You will initiate and accompany research projects for innovations and further developments in structural underground construction and for the monitoring of retaining structures. Within the specialist area, you have a broad network and are ready to expand this further internally and externally. • You have several years of practical experience in structural underground construction and in-depth knowledge of retaining structures in reinforced concrete and natural stone. • The state of science and technology in structural underground construction is known to you and you bring specialist knowledge of railway operations as well as the relevant regulations. • For this role, we require a completed degree in civil engineering (FH/Uni/ETH). • You communicate fluently in German (min. C1) and your Italian or French skills are good (min. B2).
