Education Department Your tasks Clarifications You clarify the need for help and protection of children and young people on behalf of families, KESB or the court. You triage or initiate suitable support services in cooperation with parents and specialist agencies in child protection. Mandate management You create reports for KESB and the court and are responsible for implementing legal child protection measures. As a support person, you advise and support the entire family system with regard to educational issues. Developing child-welfare solutions You always put the child at the center when you indicate educational support in the ambulatory or inpatient sector, advise parents in the event of separation and divorce, or assess the stresses in cases of domestic violence. Cooperation in child protection You build sustainable working alliances with parents and their children as well as involved third parties. You maintain clear and binding cooperation with homes, providers of ambulatory support and various other specialist agencies in the canton. Your profile Experience You have experience in statutory social work and ideally bring knowledge and/or additional qualifications in the areas of child protection, case management and systemic/solution-oriented counseling. Personality You are characterized by independent, structured and responsible work. You also bring openness, motivation and joy in team-oriented collaboration. Education You have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and can preferably show some years of professional experience in child protection. Insight into our work The Youth, Family and Sports division of the Education Department of Basel-Stadt looks after a large range of topics related to childcare, child and youth welfare, early promotion and sports. It informs and supports children, young people and those involved in education, and advocates for high-quality public and private services.
