We are looking for a passionate and experienced backend engineer, with a solid track record in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. As a member of one of our Data Platform teams, you will be responsible for building and evolving the core services that power our data ingestion products.
This role involves architecting and delivering backend solutions capable of handling large-scale data processing and integration with multiple services. You will work closely with product, infrastructure, and frontend teams to ensure our systems are robust, efficient, and capable of supporting rapid product growth.
Since the position is cross-functional, the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and pragmatically is essential. You will thrive in a collaborative environment where your work directly enables innovative and production-ready backend services at scale.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and evolve distributed backend systems serving millions of users.
Ensure end-to-end delivery of features: from design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
Architect low-latency real-time APIs and backend services for large-scale data ingestion.
Develop cloud-native services in Java, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
Work on infrastructure components, including AWS-based deployments, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS).
Ensure resilience, fault tolerance, and compliance in high-throughput environments.
Collaborate with product managers, infrastructure engineers, and other teams to deliver production-ready systems.
Contribute to technical discussions, share knowledge, and help evolve best practices in backend engineering and infrastructure.
Qualifications
BSc/BEng or Master's in Computer Science (or equivalent)
More than 8 years of professional experience in backend engineering
Proficiency in Java (17+)
Experience with distributed data systems (e.g., Redis, Apache Kafka, SQL databases).
Proven experience in designing and scaling backend systems for millions of users or high-throughput real-time services.
Good understanding of cloud-native architectures (AWS or similar), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS).
Solid experience with high-availability systems, failover, and resilience design.
Curious mindset with a desire to learn and adapt
Excellent knowledge of observability practices: logging, monitoring, tracing, metrics.
Excellent communication skills in English, capable of clearly explaining complex technical topics.
