The Stiftung Heilsarmee Schweiz operates, under the umbrella of the Kinder- und Jugendinstitutionen BS, the Schlössli Basel and the Kinderhaus Holee. In cooperation with parents, caregivers, school authorities and external contact persons, the Kinderhaus Holee ensures the individual promotion and care of children who, due to challenging life situations, cannot remain with their family of origin. In the Kinderhaus Holee, 26 children from birth to the end of primary school age live, distributed across three mixed-gender residential groups. Additionally, the Kinderhaus Holee is a specialist center for emergency accommodations via a service agreement with the Canton Basel-Stadt. The children are accompanied in their daily lives in a resource-oriented manner according to a trauma-pedagogical and systemic-solution-oriented approach and are supported individually and participatively in their developmental tasks. The supreme maxim in care is the child's well-being. Children need protection and security, but at the same time an stimulating environment in which they can dare developmental steps.
