Neuchâtel, Switzerland (and home office) | 100-100% This Head of Data Management Unit, Vice-Director, Member of the Executive Board Neuchâtel, Switzerland (and home office) | 100-100% What you can contribute Assume overall strategic responsibility for the Data management unit, including data management, the use of data science and AI, as well as the Swiss MicroDataCenter (SMDC) Ensure the implementation of the FSO's data strategy and, as a Swiss Data Steward, actively contribute to the development of national data policy Assume overall responsibility for the strategic development of central data infrastructures (registers, metadata platforms, data access services) Strategically drive the use of data science and artificial intelligence to evolve statistical production Represent and assert the FSO's position within national and international bodies regarding data standards, data spaces, and secondary use Contribute to defining the strategic direction and ensuring the development of the FSO as a member of the Executive Board What makes you unique University degree in natural or social sciences (preferably a doctorate), supplemented by continuing education in data science, economics, or administrative sciences Long experience of leadership at the general management level, and proven experience in managing complex, large-scale transformation projects Proven expertise in data policy, data governance, and the digitalization of administration, and in-depth knowledge of the structures and processes of the federal administration Political savvy and experience in representation within national and international bodies, as well as stakeholder management at the interface between administration, politics, and research Active knowledge of two official languages and passive knowledge of the third, excellent knowledge of English (at least C1) In a few words As head of the "Data" management unit and vice-director of the FSO, you will play a key role at the intersection of data, technology, and public administration. You will assume responsibility for the strategic development of national data infrastructures and position the FSO as a central player in the public data ecosystem in Switzerland. As a member of the management, you will actively contribute to the development of federal data policy, demonstrating strategic vision and entrepreneurship. The Data management unit consists of more than 140 qualified employees, including 4 direct reports.
