Zurich, Switzerland (and home office) | 80-100% What you can contribute <br /> • Ensure the use of the HPC platform (CSCS) for MétéoSuisse applications and advance its development in collaboration with internal and external partners • Collect needs related to operational exploitation, research and development, prioritize them and advocate for them with the CSCS, as well as coordinate improvements in system performance, stability and scalability • Develop components of numerical weather prediction systems as well as the associated workflow and data infrastructure, and adapt them to new technological requirements • Support and advise scientists in the areas of software development, HPC use and exploitation • Ensure the reliable operation of business-critical production systems (including << best-effort >> interventions and third-level support) <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • Master or PhD in computer science, digital sciences or a related field • Several years of practical experience in software development, preferably with Python and modern software development practices, as well as with cloud-native architectures • Experience in the operation and development of high-performance computing environments, as well as complex data flows and software • Ability to identify the technical requirements of different stakeholders, prioritize them and implement them with internal and external partners • Good command of at least two official languages as well as English <br /> In a few words Within an agile and motivated team, you will play a key role in managing the high-performance computing platform of the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) for MétéoSuisse. In collaboration with internal and external partners, you will ensure the reliable and efficient use of the platform, coordinate operational and development needs with the CSCS and contribute to the development of production systems and numerical weather prediction software components. Within the operational exploitation team, you will also participate in the operation and monitoring of business-critical production systems.
