Board Member for Human Rights Protection, Departmental Responsibility Finance

Sought: Board Member for Human Rights Protection Voices (formerly Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker Schweiz) is an internationally active non-profit organization that is committed to human rights and the empowerment of Indigenous and marginalized communities. Together and in partnership, we work towards long-term structural change with campaigns, projects, and awareness-raising work.  As of 1. September 2026 or by agreement, we are looking for reinforcement in our board for the departmental responsibility of Finance Are you interested in- • a meaningful, versatile, and challenging voluntary activity in the service of human rights for Indigenous and marginalized groups? • exchange and cooperation with an interdisciplinary board and committed team at the office in Bern? • developing the strategic direction and financial planning of the association in cooperation with the other board members and the office? • advising and supporting campaigns, projects, and other activities of Voices according to your experiences and expertise? Do you bring- • a business management understanding for analyzing financial statements and balance sheets? • experiences and expertise in finance and accounting, ideally in NGOs and associations? • motivation to contribute your expertise to strengthening the financial stability of Voices?  • time and capacity to volunteer for the human rights of Indigenous communities and marginalized groups? Do you have time for- • 4-5 board meetings per year à around 2h (each in the evening, in Bern, partially online) • members' meeting 1x per year (mostly combined with a thematic event) • preparation and possibly travel time to Bern The current board of Voices consists of seven people. As a strategic leadership body, the board accompanies the managing director and the team at a strategic level. The board members are elected by the members' meeting for two years and are re-electable. Have we aroused your interest?
