The Service archéologique de l'État de Fribourg (SAEF) identifies, inventories and censuses archaeological cultural property. It accompanies the administrative procedure concerning vestiges located in an archaeological perimeter and implements excavations and, if necessary, measures to preserve the vestiges. It promotes the documentation produced in the form of publications. Your missions You work under the supervision of the sector head and in collaboration with the technical and scientific staff of the sector. In the field, you contribute to the uncovering of vestiges and ensure their plan/section survey. As part of post-excavation work, you scan field notes and collaborate with the scientific and technical staff for the finalization of surveys and the production of plans. For the realization of studies, you execute scientific drawings of all types of movable and immovable archaeological vestiges, from sketching to publishable illustration, in collaboration with scientific staff. Upon request, you may be required to design historical reconstructions (landscapes, buildings, scenes of life). Desired profile You have a CFC and a higher ES complementary training in design, graphic design, illustration or equivalent. Your professional experience demonstrates a marked interest in scientific drawing, ideally in the archaeological or heritage field. You benefit from proven experience in archaeology, particularly in graphic documentation tasks not only in the field, but also for promotion (plans/movable property). You master the usual graphic applications, notably the Adobe suite. You have good notions of Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS) and/or digital photogrammetry. You also master an office suite and common web navigation. You demonstrate a positive character and display the will to integrate and work in a team, while being able to show initiative and autonomy. You hold a driver's license and ideally have a vehicle. You master the French or German language and have good knowledge of the other language.
