Ärztekasse is renewing its entire data center as well as the products affected by this transformation. To support this digitalization stage, we are looking for smart and experienced engineers to contribute and design clever and creative solutions for a meaningful sector. VM / Server System Engineer (m/f) Working time: 80-100% Start: immediate or to be agreed Duration: indefinite Location: Geneva region (Thônex) or Zurich region (Urdorf) Main tasks • Install, configure and maintain virtual machines and server systems (Windows and Linux/RedHat support) • Ensure the availability, performance and security of the server fleet in our virtual data center • Perform patch management, hardening and lifecycle management of server systems • Automate server provisioning and configuration via infrastructure as code • Lead the migration of unmanaged virtual machines to virtual machines managed by an IaaS provider • Monitor systems and resolve incidents to minimize downtime • This position is part of the Platform team • Participate in the future on-call rotation Requirements • More than 3 years of experience in system/server engineering or administration • Solid knowledge of Windows Server administration, Linux (RedHat) is a plus • Experience with virtualization technologies and data center operations • Skills in scripting and automation, preferably in Bash, PowerShell or Python • Basic understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration is a plus • Knowledge of security best practices and patch management • Excellent communication skills in English; German and French are a plus Additional information A stimulating environment helps to find ingenious solutions to complex and demanding requirements.
