Head of Education (80-90%) / Member of the Executive Board The Schweizerische Flüchtlingshilfe (SFH) is the leading refugee organization in Switzerland and the umbrella organization for refugee aid agencies and organizations. It advocates for the rights of people in need of protection and promotes understanding of their living situation. With its expertise, it shapes public debate and influences social and political processes. The Education department conducts practice-oriented educational events, sensitization occasions, and conferences for adults and young people throughout Switzerland. In doing so, it combines in a unique way the perspectives and competencies of employees with refugee experience, education professionals, and experts in the asylum sector. As of 1. February 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for you as Head of Education (80–90%) | Member of the Executive Board Co-leadership Bern / Lausanne possible (100%) In this exciting and strategically important leadership position, you will actively shape the future of the Schweizerische Flüchtlingshilfe and be responsible for the national educational work of the organization. Together with your team, you will create offerings that sensitize, convey knowledge, promote competencies, bring perspectives together, and make an important contribution to an informed, solidary, and non-discriminatory society. Your area of responsibility: The financial, strategic, and conceptual management of the department; The personnel leadership and further development of the bilingual (d/f) and 9-member education team at the Bern and Lausanne locations, as well as the 35 freelance employees with refugee experience; The innovative, goal-oriented, and demand-driven further development of the education portfolio as well as the promotion of the offerings; The quality assurance (eduQua). The strategic and entrepreneurial leadership and further development of the overall organization as a member of the Executive Board; For this demanding position, we are looking for a committed and proactive personality with a will to shape. Furthermore, you have: a university degree (Master's) and several years of professional experience in adult or youth education; experience in management and in leading a multi-member team according to agile principles; strong strategic and analytical skills; knowledge of the asylum system and/or human rights; competencies in the areas of transculturality, diversity management, and anti-discrimination. You work in a team-oriented and independent manner, communicate openly and convincingly in two national languages, and are resilient and flexible.
